I'd approach Mohanlal if the right role comes along: Ranjith

Director Ranjith, whose new film 'Indian Rupee' is all set for an October release, says that he would approach Mohanlal to work with him, provided he has a role that he feels nobody else could do justice to.

Ranjith says that he can't think of Mohanlal being either Pranchiyettan or Jayaprakash of 'Indian Rupee'.

Ranjith says that some people around Mohanlal still creates some sort of disturbance in him. "I don't have that problem with Mammootty," he adds.

Ranjith also says that he had recently talked with Mohanlal over phone. "I had also told him, that I was impressed by 'Pranayam'," says Ranjith.

Mohan Lal to do a cameo in Veeraputhran

Mohanlal will make a special appearance in P.T. Kunju Muhammed’s 'Veeraputhran' as a historian. The story unfolds as freedom fighter Mohammed Abdul Rahiman's wife Kunhi Beevathu narrates his story to Mohanlal's character.

Raima Sen plays the role of Rahiman's wife Kunhi Beevathu and the supporting cast includes Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Siddique, Kalabhavan Mani and Sai Kumar.

SNEHAVEEDU Malayalam Movie Release on September 29

After the super hit film 'Innathe Chinthavishayam', Universal Star Mohanlal and director Sathyan Anthikkad are joining again in the Malayalam movie SnehaVeedu. Written and directed by Sathyan Anthikad, Mohanlal is playing the role of a farmer. Padmapriya and Sheela are doing the lead female roles in this movie.

The story revolves around Ajayan (Mohanlal), who, after having tried his luck in different cities around the world, comes back to his village to look after his ageing mother Ammukutty Amma (Sheela) and to get her love and the nostalgia of his growing up years. There, he starts a company for producing agricultural equipments and earns his living as a farmer. The twists and turns that occur in Ajayan's life make up the story of the film.

The film is being produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.The film has music by Dr.Ilayaraja and camera by Venu. Editing is done by Rajagopal. It will be release on September 29 through Mohanlal's distribution company Maxlaab Entertainments.

Sathyan Anthikkad's Mohanlal film, 'Snehaveedu' would be released during Navratri.

Besides Mohanlal, Sheela plays a major role in the film. Padmapriya is the heroine.

The film has been scripted by the director himself. Earlier it was rumored that the film would be titled as 'Ammukkuttiyammayude Ajayan'. However, now it has been confirmed that the film's title is 'Snehaveedu'.

'Snehaveedu' has been produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas.

Mohanlal returns with Revathy S Varma's Mad Dad

Mega star Mohanlal will next be seen in Mad Dad, directed by Revathi S Varma. Mad Dad showcases the bonding between the father and his children and will have Mohanlal adorn the title role. This will be the first Malayalam film to be directed by Revathy.

Revathy, originally a Malayali had earlier made the Tamil film June 6 in which actress Jyothika played the female lead role.

Mad Dad is an emotional film that showcases the relationship, the father and children share with each other. Moreover, Mad Dad also throws light on the relationship that the father shares with his children's lovers.

In Mad Dad, Mohanlal plays the role of a father who is extremely attached to his children in the film. The character portrayed by Mohanlal in the film will be unique, according to insiders.

Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikkad's film, produced by Aashirwad Cinemas, has been titled Sneha Veedu.

In this typical Sathyan Anthikad sentimental-feel-good film, Mohanlal plays the role of a farmer, sporting only mundu and cotton shirt. His character Ajayan becomes a farmer in a remote village after spending many years in many towns. Veteran actress Sheela will play his mother.

His friends are toddy tapper Manian (Asokan), coconut merchant Mathai (Innocent), Sub Inspector Balachandran (Biju Menon) and his lady love Sunanda (Padmapriya). Music is by Ilaiyaraaja and camera by Venu. Sneha Veedu is slated for September last release through Mohanlal’s distribution company Max Lab.

33 Years of Legend Acting.- Mohanlal ..!

                 'Thiranottam' was a new start in Malayalam film industry. It gave birth to a new actor in Malayalam film world. The film is the first ever shoot film of Legend Actor Superstar Mohanlal before 33 years. This film was happened in 1978. And the first shoot of Mohanlal was taken on 4th day of September 1978 at 11.30 AM on Kesavadev Road. This place was in front of Mohanlal's house in Mudavanmugal. He was only 18 at that time.
This film was a work by Mohanlal and his friends. These friends are well known to us. They are Maniyan Pilla Raju,Suresh Kumar, Unni, Priyadarshan, S Kumar etc. Maniyan Pilla Raju played the central character of this film.
Mohanlal's role was the character of a disabled servant. The character's name was Kuttappan.'Thiranottam' was directed by Ashok Kumar. Unfortunately, the film was not released in the theaters. Some censorship problem made the release of Lal's first venture as an actor. But, later it was released in the theaters with the permission of the President of India in a Kollam theater. It took more than 25 years to release the movie,at that time Mohanlal became a superstar and for Malayaless ' Swantham Lalettan'.
